SDL Trados Studio 2015のセミナーに参加しました。単一のファイル、複数のファイルに加え、パッケージ形式での翻訳にも対応できるほか、用語ベース、翻訳メモリも同時に使用できます。
最近、翻訳ソフトは連携の方向に向かっていると感じます。たとえば「THE 翻訳プロフェッショナル」(東芝ソリューション(株))もこのソフトで翻訳した訳文をSDL Trados Studioに挿入できたり、他にもSDL Tradosとの連携するソフトは数多くあります(CafeTran ESPRESSO(Collaborative Translation Networks, LLC.)など)。
EBWin4(hishida氏作成)も多くの辞書を登録できるし、紙の辞書のEB WING版もあります。
翻訳業界が縦割りではなく、協力、連携に向かっていることを痛感します。
IT化の促進は翻訳関連企業の連携を促進します。蓄積したデータを他でも使う場面が多くなるからです。
翻訳ソフトの連携だけでなく、翻訳者同士の連携も促進されています。翻訳メモリや用語ベースなどを共有するSDL Studio GroupShareもあります。これにより大規模な翻訳を複数の翻訳者が分担することが可能になります。
私は以前から翻訳は複数の翻訳者が共同作業を原則にしたらどうかと考えていました。用語やフォーマットを共有すればこれは可能です。各翻訳者の負担は軽減され、短納期も可能になります。この方向に向かっていることを翻訳者としてはうれしく思います。

I participated in a seminar of “SDL Trados Studio 2015" (SDL). This software supports translations in a single file, multiple files and package translation, and enables simultaneous use of a term base and translation memory.
I am aware of the recent trend of linking translation software. For example, translations prepared using “THE Translation Professional" (Toshiba Solution Corporation) may be inserted during translation using SDL Trados Studio and many other pieces of software, for example CafeTran ESPRESSO (Collaborative Translation Networks, LLC.) cooperates with SDL Trados.
EBWin4 (developed by Mr. Hishida), which is a dictionary viewer, enables registration of many dictionaries, such as the EPWING version of paper dictionaries.The translation industry is escaping from vertical divisions and heading for cooperation and linkage.
Promotion of the utilization of Information Technology promotes the linkage of translation-related companies because accumulated data may be used more in other scenarios.
Not only the linkage of translation software but also the cooperation of translators is promoted. SDL Studio GroupShare enables translators to share their term base and translation memory. This also enables cooperative translation. I have been thinking about the constant cooperative work of translators, which is realized by sharing terms and formats. It is satisfying to realize there is such a trend in the translation industry.
