パワーポイントによるスライドの翻訳が増えています。
私が依頼される翻訳はスライド翻訳がほとんどです。その理由は、特許法や著作権法の改正が多いため、その説明会セミナーの資料を翻訳する機会が多いということ、
また海外における新しい判例も数多く出ており、これを海外法律事務所が日本で講演する機会が多いことも一つの理由です。
いずれにしてもスライド翻訳が増えた事実は、日本と米国、欧州の知財交流が多いことを示しています。
これはパリ条約の各国特許独立の原則によるものだと私は考えます。各国ごとに特許法が異なるし、一つの発明を各国で実施するには、各国で特許を取る必要があります。しかし各国の特許法や制度は異なるため、特許の内容にも各国独自の特色が現れてしまう、だからこそ知的財産をめぐって国同士の交流が紛争が起こると思います。
ところでスライドの翻訳は今のところAIに代替されておらず、制度改正も多いため、比較的安定して仕事が発注される分野です。

Translations of presentation slides using Microsoft PowerPoint have been increasingly ordered to translators.
I am often ordered to translate many slides. One reason for the increased need for translations of slides may be that frequent revisions to the Patent Law, Copyright Law, and other Intellectual Property laws increase the opportunities to translate materials for law revision seminars.
Many foreign court decisions are rendered, which is also one cause of increased opportunities for foreign law firms to give lectures in Japan.
At any rate, the fact that translations of slides are increasing shows that Japan interacts with Europe and the US in terms of Intellectual Property.
I think that this results from the principle of patent independence under the Paris Convention. Each country has its own Patent Law, and—accordingly—the same invention has to be individually patented in each of those countries.
However, patent laws and systems in various countries are different from each other. This means that the features unique to various countries are reflected in their patents, which may cause disputes about Intellectual Property among them.
Turning to translations for slides, they are not done by AI (Artificial Intelligence) for the moment and so are ordered to translators with relative stability.
