米国は中国産製品に追加の関税を課する方針です。中国には知的所有権を侵害しているという弱みがあります。報道によると、中国は知的所有権を侵害したり、外国企業に技術移転させることの強制を認めたそうです。この点で、中国に対する追加関税は懲罰の意味があります。
今や中国は経済大国を誇っていますが、最近、その経済成長は鈍化しています。
理由の一つは、中国も日本と同じように高齢化社会という問題点を抱えているからです。他の理由として、私は知的所有権の侵害による他国の中国に対する信用の失墜もあると思います。中国は知的所有権侵害を認めたといっても、日本に入ってくる模倣品を見れば、中国の知的所有権侵害は一目瞭然であるため、「今更」という印象を受けざるを得ません。

According to the news, China admitted that it has infringed upon Intellectual Property rights and pressured overseas companies to transfer their techniques. Currently, China is proud of being an economic superpower; however, its economic growth has been recently slowing down.
One reason is that China has a problem with its aging society (similarly to Japan). I think that another reason is China’s continued infringement of Intellectual Property rights, which has undermined other countries’ trust in China. Although China admitted to infringing upon Intellectual Property rights, I feel that this gesture is “too late” because China’s infringement of Intellectual Property rights can be clearly seen from the counterfeit products imported to Japan.
