結論をいうと、AI関連出願は急激に増えています。日本特許庁にされる特許出願は減少しているにもかかわらず、AI関連出願は増えています。

AIといっても技術分野は広のですが、国際特許分類G06Nが付与されるコンピュータシステムのほか、画像処理や情報検索、医療診断などが多く、まさにAIの得意分野で技術開発が行われていることを示しています。
日本の特許出願が減少するなか、AI関連出願が増加することにより、結果として特許出願件数を押し上げ、日本の特許業界が再び活気づくことを期待しています。

AI belongs in many technical fields, in which many patent applications for computer systems with International Patent Classification G06N, as well as image processing, information searches, and medical diagnosis are filed, which means that technical development in these fields that is advantageous for AI is being forwarded.
I expect that while Japanese patent applications are decreasing, the increase of AI-related applications is boosting the number of patent applications, and activating the Japanese patent industry.
